Roman Salasznyk sees huge potential for technology and artificial intelligence to improve healthcare.

“The field of life sciences is entering a period of considerable change, marked by innovation and transformation,” he said.

“Artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into life science disciplines, especially in the context of big data,” Salasznyk said. “We see public health agencies investing heavily in low-code/no-code platforms, as well as high-performance computing to quickly process, analyze, and report information. . . from scientific discovery to product approvals to disease surveillance.

Through a number of federal contracts, Booz Allen helps in key areas. His work supports more effective cancer prevention and survival, for example, and the science needed to help the government respond effectively to the next pandemic.

“We recently won a contract with the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). . . to accelerate the discovery and advancement of products not only for unmet medical needs, but also for the next public health emergency, like the pandemic,” Salasznyk said. “We help them develop their strategic plans, analyzing promising discoveries and technologies, all from a commercialization perspective.”

Through his contracts with the National Cancer Institute, Booz Allen seeks to empower the government and the institute’s extramural research committee to advance cancer knowledge and biomedical innovation. The goal is to improve prevention, detection, diagnosis and survival rates.

“For the NCI Clinical Trial Reporting Program, we are focused on gathering information across the cancer research ecosystem to improve clinical trial search prioritization and patient matching. to tryouts,” Salasznyk said. In other commitments, Booz Allen seeks to support the National Cancer Institute to improve cancer diagnosis and prevention.
